Question
A brief description of the campus-community council or equivalent body that gives external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions that affect them?
Answer
IUS Board of Advisors
https://www.ius.edu/chancellor/office-information/advisors.php
To help the IUS campus to provide programs and services that support academic success for the region’s diverse student population. As representatives of the Southern Indiana community, we will accomplish this by actively participating and collaborating with the leadership at IU Southeast to develop strategies that mutually benefit the community and the campus.
The logic behind the above questions:
We wanted to acknowledge that we do have a campus community council. This council does not make institutional decisions but does host campus representatives. IUS services both Southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. So, having community voices on a council allows IUS and community representatives to develop programs and discuss community matters that assist with community development.
