Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The number of faculty members engaged in sustainability research is based on responses from department chairs in the spring and summer of 2012. Departments not responding were assumed to not have faculty engaged in sustainability research, although in some cases this likely is not true. That is, some faculty members that conduct sustainability research may not be included in this count. Since research or other scholarly activity is required for tenured or tenure track appointments, the number of faculty members conducting research was taken as the total number of tenured and tenure eligible faculty as recorded in ISU’s 2011-2012 Fact Book (http://www.ir.iastate.edu/FB12/facstaff.html).
