A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
There were 824 purchased commuter permits for the 2018-2019 academic year. Additionally, transportation services estimates and plans for 2.5 student commuters for each of the 760 pre-pay and metered spots on campus. Subtracting these 2.724 students from the total enrollment of 34,992 leaves 32,268 students who commute via bus, walking, cycling, or other self-propelled transportation.
