Yes

Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
A campus climate survey was completed in 2017 and examined staff, faculty, and student perceptions of learning, living, and working at Iowa State University. The survey framed campus climate as a construct defined as current attitudes, behaviors, and standards and practices of employees and students of an institution. The campus climate at Iowa State University was measured by acquiring information regarding personal experiences, perceptions, and institutional efforts. Regarding the staff and faculty population, the made three assumptions: the personal and professional development of employees are influenced by campus climate, faculty who judge their campus climate more positively are more likely to feel personally supported, and a negative correlation exists between (1) workplace discrimination and negative job attitudes and (2) prejudice experienced in the workplace and lower well-being.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
Four implementation teams were formed to ensure survey results were addressed; two of these teams worked to address faculty and staff concerns. Priorities were identified and implementation plans developed following a series of forums held in 2018 to solicit input and stakeholder feedback. As a result, the University Wellbeing Leadership Alliance (UWLA) was formed. The purpose of the UWLA is to provide a teaming environment for invested stakeholders across the university to better align well-being priorities and take action in mobilizing the strategic direction for well-being at Iowa State. The goals of the UWLA include: improving the climate with physical changes, recognizing the interconnectedness of individuals and the environment; strengthening the culture by promoting an inclusive community, positive social interaction, and mutual respect; enriching quality of life by emphasizing individual and institutional well-being and addressing determinants of health; creating conditions to continually encourage well-being, engage strengths, and inspire personal development throughout the university.
