A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
In 2010, Ithaca College's men's and women's soccer program collaborated with the Sustainability at Ithaca program to develop the "Train to Sustain" program that encouraged greater sustainability in these intercollegiate athletics programs. "Train to Sustain" logoed water bottles were issued to both teams for using during practice and competitive soccer matches. In addition, the teams encouraged proper separation and recycling or composting of waste at home and away games and on travel buses.
