A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety monitors and tracks requirements related to hazardous waste disposal and responding to indoor air quality issues. The Office of Facilities Services has committed to a green cleaning policy, using almost exclusively Green Seal certified cleaning products and paper products. The Office of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction is guided by this policy in campus construction and renovation projects. The campus Energy Manager and staffers in the Office of Facilities Maintenance actively work to reduce energy and water use, in accordance with the interm and long-term goals of the Ithaca College Climate Action Plan. The College annually inventories greenhouse gas emissions, so seeks updates and reports on progress steps made.
