Students studying at John Abbott College attend school free of charge. The cost to register at the College is under $200 (Reference 2020).
John Abbott College has a financial assistance office staffed by a full-time financial aid officer, this employee works in closely with the College's Food Bank to ensure that the recurring or the emergency needs of students are met. In the 2022-2023 school year 362 applications for financial assistance were submitted to Aide Financiere des Etudiants, students requesting a loan received on average $2000, students requesting a bursary received on average $4500.
The College also provides several bursaries and scholarship to students registered at the College. In 2022-2023 103 awards were distributed for a total of $81,950 through the College's Foundation and there was $15,000 in bursaries available to students through the Student Union.

The Crossroads Program is a program that has been put in place specifically to assist Indigenous students with the transition to College from High School.
