A brief description of the plan(s) to advance sustainability in Energy:
We are continually identifying additional infrastructural, process, and behavior oriented projects to reduce energy consumption on campus. Some of these include HVAC and building system retrofits, lighting upgrades, scheduling modifications, and our e3 Sustainable Office Challenge program. These are completed on an ongoing basis during normal lifecycle replacement cycles as well as separate investment projects.

A brief description of the plan(s) to advance sustainability in Transportation:
JCCC's Center for Sustainability recently completed two traffic and parking studies to count total vehicle traffic entering and exiting campus, estimate multi-occupant vehicles entering campus, and estimate parking lot usage over 48-hour periods. This data was used to formulate our plan moving forward to attempt to cap and then decrease single occupant vehicle commuting. In conjunction with our local transit authority, we developed two new bus routes that would serve JCCC students' needs for frequency, reliability, and proximity. This plan has been proposed to the JCCC Board of Trustee's Management Committee as a way to alleviate concerns about parking capacity in a manner that would be significantly less expensive than constructing additional parking on campus. We also have additional plans in place to encourage carpooling and bicycling when possible. We have a carpool matching system to help students, staff, and faculty identify potential fellow carpoolers who live near them and have similar commuting needs. We also have plans in place to proactively add additional bicycling infrastructure to help meet bike commuter's needs.

None
The measurable objectives, strategies and timeframes included in the Transportation plan(s):
At the time of our study, we know that 14,000 cars per day entered the JCCC campus. That is our baseline with a goal of decreasing that figure (relative to enrollment levels). A timeframe has been tough to formulate given budget conditions and other internal and external considerations. Our sustainable transportation plan has been met with serious consideration as an alternative to building additional parking infrastructure when the timing is right to do so.

Accountable parties, offices or departments for the Transportation plan(s):

None
A brief description of the plan(s) to advance sustainability in Waste:
JCCC has a goal of becoming a zero waste to landfill campus by 2025. We have an extensive single stream recycling program (with many other additional streams to a lesser extent, many of which can be viewed here: http://www.jccc.edu/sustainability/projects/recycling/index.html), an extensive pre-consumer food waste composting program, and many waste minimization efforts across campus. Plans for the future include integrating waste minimization and product life-cycle assessment into purchasing decisions, altering our surplus property rules to allow for easier distribution to charities or organizations that can put items to their highest and best use, and examining the addition of post-consumer food waste composting.
