A brief description of the sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:
Our practice is to purchase locally grown or produced food and beverage as they are available. Due to our northern climate, local produce is not available during winter months. All of our meat is purchased from within 250 miles of the Institution. For example;
-All of our beef is organic and purchased from a farm 30 miles away in Millet Alberta.
-coffee purchases are fair trade but are not local
- Chicken is produced locally
