Yes

None
A brief description of the institution’s participation in federal TRIO programs:
Due to TRIO being an American program offered for American students, we, to my knowledge being a Canadian institution do not participate in TRIO.

None
A brief description of the institution’s policies and programs to minimize the cost of attendance for low-income students?:
We offer our current and prospective students financial aid counseling and have an awards program that offers non-repayable awards based upon financial need. As well, we offer an on-campus employment program so students are able to help balance their work and study.

None
A brief description of the institution’s programs to equip the institution's faculty and staff to better serve students from low-income backgrounds:
Faculty and staff are encouraged to refer students that they know facing financial aid/need barriers to the on-campus Manager of Financial Aid for further discussion and counseling. We also offer free tutoring and a low cost program to help students achieve academic success. Our faculty are available to students in need of extra assistance. During campus visits and Open House events we allow students to fill out an application without charging them the application fee (normally a $70.00-$140.00 cost).

None

A brief description of the institution's scholarships for low-income students:
Typically, scholarships are based upon scholastic performance, so we offer a range of various bursaries, non-repayable awards based upon financial need. Students at King’s are also eligible for all government funding applicable to low income families and individuals.

A brief description of the institution’s programs to guide parents of low-income students through the higher education experience:
We are working on making the Manager of Financial Aid available at some high schools that would like to have presentations geared toward parents so that they are aware of financial aid options available to their families as they plan for post-secondary with their children. In addition, we encourage families to meet with the Manager of Financial Aid prior to attending out institution.

None
A brief description of the institution’s targeted outreach to recruit students from low-income backgrounds:
There is no specific outreach to low income students. We recruit at all public high schools regardless of the demographic of the students in the schools. As a result we recruit at many schools with low income families. These students are encouraged to come to King’s and all financial assistance available is offered to them. The prerequisite average to enter King’s is 60%. Entrance is non-competitive in all degree programs but one, so students are admitted on a first come, first served basis.

None
A brief description of the institution’s other admissions policies and programs:
The incoming admission average is 60% and entrance to King’s is non-competitive in all degree programs except one. Students are required to have five grade 12 academic courses with the 60% average – and none can be a failing grade. Some degrees have prerequisite high school courses (e.g. high school grade 12 academic math to get into the Commerce degree). Every student needs to have grade 12 academic English. Mature students (over age 21) need degree prerequisite courses and English proficiency.

None
