A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
One faculty member compiled an initial list of courses based on the course calendar for 2020-2021 (extrapolating back for course offerings in 2019-2020) and on the course outlines provided on the university website. She then refined the list by contacting a few targeted faculty and departments. Courses which might apply but for which insufficient information was provided were highlighted, and the draft list was sent to five faculty deans for confirmation that the offerings were correct and that the courses listed fit the criteria. Final questions were directed to specific faculty members to complete the list.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
Courses were counted separately each time they were offered, and cross-listed courses were counted for each course code (e.g., ENVS/SSCI 320 was counted twice).
