Solar One; Solar Powered Golf Cart
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
A student and employee of the Green LMU office collaborated with facilities management and engineering professors to design and build a golf cart that uses on solar power as a source of energy. The cart acts a platform for promoting sustainability around campus and promotes research and innovative ideas for the public. It inspires and advocates for research in the field of sustainability. A research paper on the design and construction of the cart is being written to be submitted for publication in a scientific journal. A solar trailer is also currently being built to add to the effectiveness of the fleet in promoting sustainability to the campus.
