Hyundai Fill It Forward Challenge

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In the Fall of 2019 LMU participated in the Fill It Forward Challenge.
The Fill It Forward Challenge was sponsored by Hyundai in collaboration with Green LMU, Parking, and Athletics. The competition focused on three main aspects:

1) Promoting water sustainability (59,290 Refills)
2) Offered a firsthand look at the future of electrified and fuel cell
mobility
3) Preparing students to be leaders in areas of climate change and
environmental sustainability.

Students got to experience the future of electric vehicles and test drive them for a week. Campus partners include:

• HR Wellness Program (Over 400 people participated)

• Facilities Management
• ITS
• LMU’s Greek Life
• ASLMU
• Surf Club
• Ski Club
• President’s Office
• Parking and Transportation
• Oxfam
• Engineers without Borders
• Eco Students
• Outdoor Club
• Etc.
• Center for Service and Action
• CURes

The competition and events lasted three weeks. Green Staff and Students were set up around campus promoting the reusable water bottles. For every refill, LMU also contributed to a clean water project.
