We use natural organic fertilizers on both our Grounds and Athletic Fields. We also use soil surfactants and wetting agents on our Athletic Fields for more efficient irrigation usage.
We have also instated a Green Athletics team certification program. Each athletic team answers a questionnaire detailing what green efforts they take as a team, such as donating old gear, carpooling to games, having recycling bins present at practice and games, etc. Upon completion, and after determining the the team takes an effort to be more eco-conscious, tthe teams are provided a certification and badge, which will last the duration of the academic year and can be used in advertising. Much of the value derived from this certification comes from the ability for teams to showcase their commitment to sustainability. It gives them an opportunity to display how they are proving alignment with our university's expanding sustainability values, as well as
