Has the institution banned or eliminated the on-site sales and distribution of at least one type of single-use disposable plastic?:
Yes
A brief description of the single-use disposable plastics that have been banned or eliminated:
Plastic straws had been eliminated at all four main dining locations on campus. After COVID, many initiatives had been dismantled, including the plastic straw ban. LMU is currently developing a policy that will lead our university to being single-use-plastics-free by 2030, and aims to ban single-use plastic bags first. We anticipate that the ban on single use plastic bags will take effect in 2024.
