A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Since January 2022, Human Resources provided more than 250 newly hired employees access to information about sustainably-supportive benefits and resources such as access to pre-tax transit accounts, bike and car share discounts, Loyola’s University Assisted Housing (walk to work program), virtual and/or on-site green-inspired educational events, and more.

Loyola 101 is a monthly orientation for new staff. Presenters at Loyola 101 are encouraged to talk about the importance of sustainability to the institution and Loyola's sustainability initiatives (e.g. recycling, composting, bottled water ban, transit benefits, etc). New staff also receive information about sustainability committees they can join.

Loyola 201: Partners in Mission is a more in-depth orientation presentation for staff to familiarize new employees with the values of the university. The Office of Sustainability is a featured presenter during Loyola 201 events.

For new faculty, information on Integrating Sustainability Resources for Faculty is included in onboarding and a workshop for additional details was offered.
