On Luther's Sustainability website information can be found about campus sustainability initiatives, outreach into Northeast Iowa and personal actions that can be taken to live a more sustainable life. The site has detailed information and videos about Luther's commitments and sustainable initiatives, how anyone can get involved, upcoming events and news, sustainable activities and organizations, a suggestion box, and a page devoted to the question "What is sustainability?"

All residence halls and academic and administrative buildings have recycling bins, and contain signs indicating where the recycle bins are and how to sort recyclable materials. There are also signs in the residence halls and the cafeteria indicating where the compost is and what materials can be composted. Valders and Sampson-Hoffland have signage highlighting some of the green building features that were installed in accordance with LEED standards, such as signage in the bathrooms indicating how the dual-flush toilets work.

The cafeteria has signage that shows the % of food used that was purchased locally to date and how much has been spent on local foods per year. There are signs that talk about the hormone free milk, 100% Fair Trade Certified coffee and 100% USDA organic and ethnically sourced tea. In addition the daily menu lists which foods are locally sourced.

Signage on Luther's grounds highlights all of the main sustainable features of the grounds,such as the Edible Landscape Garden,the Rain Garden and Oak Savanna Reconstruction behind Sampson-Hoffland, and Anderson Prairie. The signs often explain the purpose of the feature. For example: "The rain garden absorbs rainwater from the roof of Sampson-Hoffland that would otherwise go into the storm sewer system and the river. Native wetland plants such as grasses, sedges, and wildflowers are used in rain gardens due to their extensive and deep root systems. These roots enhance the infiltration of stormwater into the ground, helping to reduce flooding."
