Yes
None
A brief description of the garden:
Since the first garden project in 2004, Luther's garden projects have grown every year in hopes to establish an image of food sustainability on campus that will educate and increase the involvement of students, staff, and faculty about the connection humans have with their food.
All of the vegetables and flowers produced in the Luther Gardens are purchased and used on campus. The cafeteria includes produce on its salad bar and finds creative ways to use the seasonal abundance in the daily menu. The garden plots have not seen pesticides or herbicides in over six years! When plausible, we purchase locally and/or organically produced seed. We use a large amount of nutritious compost in the plots to help provide nutrients to our growing plants. The compost is collected from various dining service locations around Luther College such as the Cafeteria, Oneota Cafe and Marty's Cyber Cafe.
