A brief description of the event(s):
Luther hosted the first ever Oneota Film Festival last January, which has a sustainability tilt- last year all films were sustainability related. The event is scheduled to take place again this year. The event was in January, with the goal of drawing in lots of students who were on campus for J-term. There was a Sustainability Series out of our office last year that involved 3 films being shown over the course of a month. Additionally, every fifth year Luther hosts the Nobel Peace Prize Forum. We will next be hosting the event in March 2011. The entire weekend is focused on social justice and other sustainability issues. Many students from Luther and other colleges attend this event. In the spring of 2008 Luther hosted the first ever UMACS (Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability) Conference. This event is rotated between a few different schools, and Luther will likely host it again.
