Here are two recent examples of Luther's advocacy for sustainability related public policies:
- Last year Luther College President Rick Torgerson took the lead on a letter from college and university presidents in Iowa in support of funding for the Higher Education Sustainability Act. This was coordinated through the Campaign for Environmental Literacy, who see Torgerson as a leader in the Midwest.
-Professor Jim Martin-Schramm has done a lot of lobbying at the state level related to wind energy policy to make sure that laws benefit non-profits and schools, not just corporations.
