A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
In Spring 2022 Macalester completed the HEDS Diversity & Equity Campus Climate survey of all employees, which included satisfaction questions. The survey was sent to 690 employees and received a 71% response rate. The sample is representative of the population of employees at Macalester and it was determined that no demographic or identity groups were statistically significantly under or over represented based upon analysis of faculty vs staff, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, or race/ethnicity.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The results of the survey have been presented on campus. The goal of the presentations is that the initial findings of this survey lead to reflection, then dialogues, follow-ups, and action plans.
