A brief description of the food donation program:
Marquette is home to a chapter of the Campus Kitchens Project. The Campus Kitchens at Marquette chapter receives food donations from several areas on campus including individual donations, donations from the campus dining services contractor (Sodexo), and by growing their own in the campus gardens. Campus Kitchens prepares and delivers upwards of 500 meals per week to local partners.
Student organizations collect leftover non-perishable food items during residence hall move-outs each year. These items are then donated to local food pantries and/or shelters.
Sodexo also collects and donates food for a Helping Hands program. Their latest effort collected $1,000 and 1,000 pounds of food.
