Does the institution have a surplus department or formal office supplies exchange program that facilitates reuse of materials?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program:
Marquette’s Purchasing Department hosts both a surplus department and an office supplies exchange program. The surplus department assists with the placement of university equipment from a department who can no longer utilize it to another who can. The URL for the surplus equipment page is below. The Purchasing Department also works with OfficeMax to host annual office supply swaps. Departments are encouraged to drop off any excess supplies to a centralized location during a designated day. The supplies are then inventoried and set on display. Once on display, departments are welcome to “shop” for any desired supplies. Any supplies left over are either donated or recycled.
