A brief description of the institution’s assurance process:
MIT Audit Division reviewers examined the STARS credit preparation document utilized by the MIT Office of Sustainability to track, review, and input each credit data in accordance with STARS submission guidelines. Reviewers checked each credit for errors or inconsistencies and shared questions and feedback with Office of Sustainability stakeholders. Reviewers were not directly involved in the data collection process for any credits, outside of this review step, PA-4.

Based on feedback from the reviewers, staff within the Office of Sustainability checked data sources, added or updated information and edited credit responses to address reviewer feedback. As updates were made, reviewers re-examined the credits and provided any additional feedback, if necessary. This process was repeated until all reviewer feedback was adequately addressed and each credit met its criteria.
