McGill Food & Dining Services uses signs and brochures to advertise:
- that it serves fair-trade certified coffee (or equivalent) in dining halls across campus and in the majority of retail locations
- that it has committed to serving “sustainable fish & seafood” on the menu as of September 1, 2010.
- the use and benefits of free-range eggs
- the use and benefits of organic grains
- various sustainability-themed events, like Meatless Mondays and Local Food Days

Sustainable Walking Map or Tour

The Green (Tree) Tour educates participants on the native tree, bush, and flower species located both on the McGill campus and in the forest of the piedmont (northeast flanc) of Mount Royal.
Note: While this walking tour currently focuses solely on flowers, trees, and bushes, plans are in the works to expand it to include a larger variety of sustainability-related topics.

McGill provides students, faculty, and visitors with information about how to access both the Downtown and MacDonald campuses via the public bus and subway systems, as well as information on how to use the University's free inter-campus shuttle.

McGill distributes Bixi pamphlets (which includes cycling maps of Montreal) and the Safe Cycling Guide during orientation to new students, and works with the local police who provide a free engraving service for bicycles.
