A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
All new employees are required to attend the new employee orientation presented virtually by the Human Resources Department each month. Within the presentation, slides created by the Sustainability Coordinator outline sustainability practices and policies at MGH IHP. The slides include a statement about the institute's commitment to sustainability, particularly as a health professions school. The following information is included in the slides.

1. Waste Reduction Program- trash, recycling, and compost
2. Compostable coffee products in all seven buildings
3. Energy Star Procurement Policy
4. Temperature Management Policy
5. Recycled Brand Copy Paper Policy
6. Green Cleaning Program
7. Recycle Smart Partner

Information regarding sustainable transportation options is also discussed. Locations of bicycle facilities, instructions on how to sign up for discounted Bluebikes, MBTA discounts, and information on the free Mass General Brigham shuttles are provided to all new employees as well.
