A brief description of the campus-community council or equivalent body that gives external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions that affect them:

The President's Council was created in the Fall of 2020. The council was created to serve as a bridge between President Paula Milone-Nuzzo, the Board of Trustees, the MGH IHP community, and the general public. The 12 people currently on the council bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from sectors including pharmaceuticals, health care, insurance, energy, hospitality, communications, and business. Members serve a maximum of four terms of three years each for a maximum of 12 years, and may be invited to serve as an Honorary Member at the conclusion of their final term. The President's Council meets three times a year and serve as advisors to the President and ambassadors for the IHP in the community.

The Board of Trustees meeting also provides external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions as part of the meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held approximatly five times per year. Holding fiduciary responsibility for the academic integrity and financial health of the MGH Institute, members of the Board of Trustees volunteer their time, resources, and expertise in setting the strategic direction of the Institute, stewarding its resources and furthering its reputation. Members serve staggered, three-year terms. An online communication tool called the "Institute Input" also provides an opportunity for the president, and others in senior administration to hear ideas, feedback, and suggestions from members of the Institute community, including current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, colleagues throughout Partners HealthCare, donors, supporters, and friends of the IHP.
