Miami's Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) has performed contractor audits (including site visits) for Miami’s e-waste recycling handlers. We review the compliance history, safety history & recycling methods for the contractor(s) that receive and process all of Miami’s e-waste.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:
IT Services has partnered with Creative Recycling Solutions (http://www.crserecycling.com/) to ensure environmentally safe disposal of institution-generated solid computer waste. CRS not only ensures that the computer equipment they collect is either repurposed or safely broken down into raw materials, they also properly dispose of any data that might have been contained on those devices. The process is initiated via work request. Creative Recycling makes regular visits to campus buildings to remove the computer waste. Battery and cell phone collection bins are located at various sites around campus.
