Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
In the past academic year, while operating from a mostly remote environment due the pandemic, Miami students continued to engage in their communities through service and volunteering in innovative ways that supported those in need while upholding standards around social distancing. Miami students reported over 50,000 hours of service and volunteer hours; the non-profit Independent Sector places a monetary value of these efforts as over one million dollars. Though these numbers may be impressive, the reality is that a large number of service and volunteer hours go unreported.
