A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
The survey was developed by the Sustainable Development Department on June 2020 and shared with all the community of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and the Green Energy Park.
The department has developped the assessment based on different surveys conducted by many universities. We have also compiled sustainability aspects at the university campus to highlight them in the survey.
Moreover, we added a question to collect emails of the interested students and staff to be part of the follow up survey.

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :
The Literacy assessment survey was sent via email to all UM6P community. It was also sent to students’ delegate of each school and program to make sure we have a good representative sample of all the students’ body.
The Sustainable Development Department has just been created during the 2019/2020 Academic year which means this sustainability literacy assessment is the 1st edition of the other assessments the SD department will be launching.
There were 3 email reminders over the course of one month. Although the response rate was less than targeted, 4,75% of students’ body and 4,2% of staff allowed us to achieve a representative sample.

A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s):
Overall, the literacy assessment shows that around 52% of the UM6P community has a strong knowledge about SDGs and their targets and indicators. The survey has also shown that participants are considerably sensitized about their role as citizens in creating projects, building partnerships, using their positions in society and holding their government and private sector accountable.
The Sustainable Development Department will analyze the results more thoroughly to improve the assessment, increase the response rate. The department has also decided to conduct periodic sustainability literacy assessments to help students acquire more knowledge about sustainability.
