COOPLAB
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in partnership with the OCP Foundation has launched the “Cooplab”; a laboratory of expertise to support the Moroccan Cooperatives and to ensure their sustainable social inclusion. CoopLab aims to be a mechanism for developing an inclusive and equitable economy and a catalyst for change. An important link intended to forge the cooperative system which is added to the multiple initiatives carried by the OCP Foundation and the UM6P, in their ambition to put education and innovation as levers to Social and Solidarity Economy. In the particular context of COVID 19 health crisis, two actions targeting agricultural cooperatives have been initiated in the OCP sites.
The first action concerns an online training on digital transformation for the benefit of the partner cooperatives during the quarantine. The second one aims to give these cooperatives an access to e-commerce opportunities via an online marketplace dedicated to their local products. An opportunity for them to market their products and to generate income during the pandemic period.
