Yes
The formal statement in support of sustainability:
Because the Sustainable Development of African societies is at the heart of the strategic objectives of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P),
Because the UM6P aspires to become a space for experimentation aiming at improving the life quality of present and future generations,
Because the UM6P aims to train students who are promoters of change through the prism of Sustainable Development,
Because the well-being of the UM6P community (students, academic and non-academic staff) conditions our performance,
Because the UM6P is part of the international action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 agenda,
We have chosen to build and present our commitments according to the following three dimensions:
For an efficient resources management:
1-Sustainably manage natural resources by promoting the circular economy and reducing our ecological footprint
2- Face up to environmental, social and economic challenges
3- Promote eco-responsible practices in all our operations
4-Preserve and restore biodiversity
For a positive impact in our community:
5-Build new models of relationships for an effective value creation with the local community
6-Contribute to the development and attractiveness of the territories in which we operate
7-Encourage innovative initiatives for the benefit of the local ecosystems
8-Stimulate the sharing of expertise on the regional, national and international scenes.
For the well-being of our community:
9-Provide and maintain the important services for health and human development
10-Guarantee a healthy and secured working environment
11-Foster the professional development and commitment of each member of the community
12-Guarantee the respect of diversity and fundamental human and social rights within our institution.
The deployment of our twelve commitments is part of UM6P's desire to implement a Sustainable Development approach and to mobilize the whole community (students, academic and non-academic staff) in order to integrate or strengthen Sustainable Development in our education, research and operations missions.
