Ai movement, the Moroccan International Center for Artificial Intelligence is a center of excellence in Artificial Intelligence that aims to foster the emergence of Moroccan expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences. It is both:
An articulating and consolidating tool of various actions related to the field of AI, with the ambition of making Morocco a regional AI hub impacting its ecosystem, on strategic, educational and industrial levels.
A lever to anticipate and accompany the evolutions and transformations related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences, the aim of which is to provide innovative, operational, resilient and ethical solutions to the problems of society, environment, market, economy and technology.
On July 7, 2022, UNESCO and the International Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ai movement of the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Morocco signed a Strategic and Financial Partnership Agreement for a period of three years to develop a strategic cooperation for capacity building in AI in Africa. The initiatives will operate within the framework of UNESCO’s operational strategy for Priority Africa, in particular its Flagship Programmes 1 (Campus Africa: Strengthening Higher Education in Africa) and 4 (Harnessing New and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development in Africa). Through this partnership, more than 500 students, entrepreneurs, executives and leaders from across Africa will be offered unique opportunities for awareness raising, networking, knowledge building and certification training in AI.
Moreover, they launched a new program revolving around artificial intelligence in partnership with Africa Business School. The “AI Governance and Executive Applications” masters program will focus on the adoption and use of AI technologies in several fields and is “aimed at leaders” responsible for making decisions, a press release by the university says.
The program will address urgent needs in the business world to train leaders and executives to become familiar with AI technologies by covering the main elements of AI, as well as the latest trends in its applications. It is divided into four certificates: Foundations of AI, Governance of AI, Transformation Using AI, and Applications of AI, it will offer applications for AI in the fields of defense, renewable energies, and Industry 4.0, among others.
