A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
100% of new employees (faculty and staff) are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics. 100% of new employees attend Diversity, Equity and inclusion seminar as part of a yearlong training program and receive a handout highlighting campus sustainability initiatives. This includes all Plant Ops Staff that is trained in Green Cleaning Practices, low energy HVAC equipment, sustainable landscaping and recycling procedures. Additionally, all food service employees paid by Muhlenberg and Sodexo are trained in recycling, impacts of reducing food waste, and the benefits of buying local and plant-based meals.
