Part 1. Measurable sustainability objectives 

Academics

1.Internationalization:To cultivate and nurture students to become global citizens, deepen their mobility and international perspective, and build international partnership to expand our impact.
a.The current percentage of our students participating in overseas programs is approximately 14%. The target is to have at least 25% of our graduating class of 2025 with overseas program experiences.
b.The proportion of international students is currently about 11%. The target is to achieve 15% by 2025.
c.A total of 1,168 international exchange students are currently enrolled. The target is to reach 1,500 by 2025.
d.The university currently employs 53 full-time foreign faculty members. The target is to make foreign teachers 10% of the faculty by 2025.

2.Cultivating cross-disciplinary talent: NTNU will create an open learning environment for interdisciplinary learning, cross-fields research, and cross-boundary digital learning.
a.Students pursuing a double major, double minor, or cross-disciplinary program currently make up 34.88% of the student body. The target is to reach 50% by 2025.
b.Students who have completed a double major, double minor, or cross-disciplinary program currently make up 13.86%. The target is to reach 30% by 2025.
c.NTNU currently offers teacher training programs in early childhood education, secondary school education, special education, and international education. The target is to establish an additional program in primary school education by 2025 to create a comprehensive teacher training system.

3.Improving teaching innovation and teaching quality
a.Setting up an issue-oriented general education course on SDGs to strengthen students' international perspectives and participation on earth sustainability: The university encourage faculties to offer new SDGs general courses every year to enhance students' understanding of the framework of sustainable development, the context and problems of national or local development, and then to propose possible innovative solutions.
b.Promoting the academy system with sustainable development education: The university enhance the unique learning environment of the academy by mentoring approximately 80 academy students every year through at least 6 co-study groups that integrats SDGs sustainable development issues with college students' social responsibility USR.

1.University-Industry Collaboration: In facing of the challenges of climate change, disease, education equity, and poverty, NTNU will collaborate with local communities, industries, governments, and international communities to achieve local and global sustainable developments.
a.Industry-academia collaboration projects have had a total of 749 cases in the last six years. The target is to reach 1,000 between 2020 and 2025.
b.In the past six years, there have been 679 cases of patents and technology transfers. The target is to reach 900 between 2020 and 2025.
c.Currently, a total of 319 NTNU students are on internship in industries. The target for 2025 is to reach 30% of students.

2.Improve the learning assistance and teacher training modules of English teaching and learning in remote villages
a.The PASSION project has linked English learning supporting network of 20 schools in Hualien, Yunlin and Kinmen areas. The number of diagnoses is expected to exceed 10,000, and the number of students over 1,000. 20 teacher empowerment workshops will be held and are expected to affect more than 1,000 teachers.

3.Innovate the special education support module in remote villages to assist local self-reliance practice, and transfer models across schools and countries.
a.The special education project will link 4 local cooperative schools, 4 local government units and 3 local private units to conduct at least 8 school admissions counseling, 40 energy enhancement studies and case studies. In addition, at least 12 empowerment workshops will be held for 60 teachers and 220 local parents. The remote support system, and 12 sets of online course materials will be produced to help with the courses and workshops.

4.Optimize the ability to practice Science and English and strengthen the cross-field academic ability of rural students.
a.140 Master and PhD students and local teachers will be trained as seed teachers to assist with the Science & English experimental camps. The project will serve more than 500 teachers and students in remote areas every year.

5.Create a sustainable elderly-friendly community: A comprehensive system upgrade plan for the long-term health of the elderly.
a.Expanding the operation of an original "Senior Dream Market" project from the local communities to the Greater Taipei area to create a model for building a long-term community for the elderly, raising the goal of serving more than 17,000 people in the community.

6.Establish a community of inclusive "heart" - an ecosystem service model of psychological counseling for the elderly.
a.Assist the elderly and family caregivers with individual counseling and family counseling for 200 person-times; provide professional psychological counseling training for community professional caregivers, with an expected number of beneficiaries of about 500 person; provide community-based elderly and family caregivers with psychological growth lectures and consultations, group service, emotional support and other activities, benefiting more than 800 people.

7.Establish a drug addiction treatment training center for drug addiction prevention and empowerment.
a.The project will train 50 cross-disciplinary students in health education, chemical testing and psychological counseling, and establish an addiction treatment training center. The goal is to help approximately 2,000 drug addicts (including 100 children).

8.Build a plastic reduction demonstration base to research and develop plastic reduction education and promotion strategies.
a.The university has built a plastic reduction center located in its neighborhood community to offer at least 10 themed or specialized courses every year, conduct course exchanges with at least 3 schools, and cultivate at least 100 plastic reduction promoters. The project expects to involve 50 teachers that 50 teachers from schools at all levels and affects at least 1,000 students.

Operations

Intelligence Campus Project: enhancing On-Campus Information Technology Infrastructure to optimize administrative system, improve energy efficiency and support for academic development.
a.By 2020, all classrooms on campus have been equipped with computers, projectors, and internet connections. The target for 2025 is to upgrade 60% of these classrooms to more intelligent and interactive ones.
b.Digital services will be fully integrated into NTNU’s existing information technology infrastructure, with access to employee or student digital ID at all time by 2025.

1.Improve the accessibility of higher education
a.Create a dual-channel enrollment plan to provide opportunities for economic disadvantaged students, give priority to students from disadvantaged groups, new immigrants and their children, overseas Taiwanese students) by adding 2% to 5% from the university admission exams.
b.Establish a developmental scholarship fund and life support to promote students' learning, engagement and self-realization. The university will set up "Teachers and Students Scholarships" and "Study Abroad Scholarships" to encourage students from economically or culturally disadvantaged backgrounds to enhance their international perspectives.

2.Establish multiple counseling channels to offer supportive living and learning assistance.
a.Enhancing the "Dream Building Project Learning Program" to provide guidance of institutional internships, career lectures and consultations, and employment matching for students in financial difficulties.
b.Setting up the "Resource Classroom" in the special education center to continuously improve the barrier-free environment and learning support and to provide opportunities to communicate with students with disabilities at home and abroad.
c.Establishing the "Aboriginal Student Resource Center" with dedicated tutors to assist students in life adjustment, provide academic and career counseling to strengthen the cultural literacy and traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous students.
