Title and a brief description of the institution’s free, online sustainability course:
【OpenCourseWare (OCW)】
From 2017 to 2020, we have added 47 online courses (a total of about 3,000 hours on the digital platform) in NTHU OCW. The cumulative number of courses so far is 164, with more than 1,500 digital textbooks. NTHU open courses are free of charge so that everyone can study high-quality, university-level courses at home. Through the online platform, students can experience the innovative thinking and global mindset that our university promotes to achieve sustainable development, as advocated by our school motto (as shown in the Excel file).

【NTHU MOOCs】
From 2013 to 2020, there are a total of 55 courses on NTHU MOOCs offered. Among them, there are “self-learning courses” provided, which are in line with the Ministry of Education’s 108 education curriculum guidelines (such as “alternative learning” and “multiple elective courses” by high school students) and can be used by the public audience for continuing education.

NTHU MOOCs include courses below:
“Ecosystem and Global Change” by Prof. Chin-Shou Wang from the General Education Center aims to teach the basic concepts of ecological care and environmental protection, and leads students to discuss topics related to the subject.
“Social Design for Common Good,” by Prof. Chin-Shou Wang from the General Education Center is based on the theory of sustainable development concentric circles and Fun Theory, with cross-field and team cooperation learning, and social design to promote the common good.

“Social Enterprise,” by Prof. Jyun-Cheng Wang from the Institute of Service Science explains the basic cognition of social enterprises. It covers topics on social enterprise operating models, the role of social enterprises in society, social influence, and other related issues to training students to be sensitive to current events in social enterprises and to be able to subjectively judge and analyze such social enterprise issues in the future.
