Information about sustainability such as building energy consumption during energy competitions, local events, and building features is promoted through a campus wide system of video, LCD, screens that appear in many building common areas.
In addition, some buildings include permanent signage about green features. Education and signage is part of LEED certified buildings.

University Dining is proud to be a contributing partner in the University's overall goal to conserve energy, use resources wisely and reduce our carbon footprint. There are signs in the dining halls educating students about composting practices, local and organic foods and more. University Dining has information on their website about their sustainability initiatives as well as produces print materials for tabling events.

Interpretative signs were installed along the greenway that follows Rocky Branch (urban creek) that explain the concepts behind the restoration design, such as how native vegetation provides habitat, cover, and food for wildlife, plantings have increased the width of the forested buffer zone, and how the new greenway path provides a transportation alternative and brings people close to the creek.

The self-guided Sustainability Walking Tour has two loops that cover the Main Campus and Centennial Campus. The tour is about 5.5 miles in transit and includes stops such as a greenroof, organic garden, greenway path, and energy efficient buildings.

Wolf Trails offers NC State's community members alternative transportation options. GoPass is a free pass for all Capital Area Transit (CTA) and Triangle Triangle (TT) buses, available to students, faculty, and staff. There is information about NCSU's bike sharing initiative as well as carpooling options. There is also a Campus Walk Times map that shows how quick and easy it is to walk between a variety of locations on Main and Centennial Campuses, and gives an idea of how much average time to plan on walking.
