Does the institution meter all energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, purchased steam, etc.) for at least one building?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the metering system:
The Joyner Visitor Center is one example of where all energy consumption is metered. The building is not on a steam or chilled water loop and so the electric and natural gas meter capture data that represents the total energy required for building operation.
The electric meter is a nexus meter and is installed on the transformer outside the building. It is tied to the campus network and real-time monitoring is performed.
The gas meter is provided by PSNC and allows the internal capture of gas usage for the Joyner building. This is currently a once monthly manual reading.
