NC State has several guiding documents, policies and procedures that address outdoor air quality and mobile emissions including: 2010 Climate Action Plan (Campus fleet and Improved commuting strategies in the Transportation Wedge), Sustainability Strategic Plan (Section 5.6 Transportation), Sustainability Policy and Sustainability Standard Operating Procedures (Sections 2.2 and 2.6).

A brief description of the institution’s initiatives to minimize air pollutant emissions from stationary sources, including efforts made during the previous three years:
All of NC State University's energy conservation and efficiency efforts have a positive impact on outdoor air pollution. Specific projects include energy performance contracting, building recommissioning and the installation of co-generation (CHP) system at the Cates Utility Plant.
