A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
The NC State Wellness Committee is a standing committee charged with creating and maintaining a culture that supports and promotes the overall wellness of NC State students, staff and faculty. The committee advises University administration and wellness partners to encourage inclusive dialogue, programs, services and initiatives that foster healthy decision-making.
Students have access to spaces and groups like the Wellness and Recreation Center, the Counseling Center, Student Health Services, Prevention Services, and regular events that promote wellness and teach stress-management strategies.
University employees can obtain memberships to the Wellness and Recreation Center and receive services from the Couseling Center and Prevention Services. Faculty and staff can also become Wellness Champions. Wellness Champions volunteer to promote university-wide wellness initiatives in their departments by communicating health and wellness activities to their colleagues, encouraging and motivating staff and faculty participation, planning and conducting wellness activities, and working collaboratively to promote health and wellness in their units.
