The Sustainability Board wrote a report base on a student survey it conducted during the 2016-17 school-year that is shared with the campus. The cafeteria includes table tents and wall signage for "Know Where it Goes: Stop, Think, Sort," to support composting efforts. The Sustainability Board distributes Fair Trade brochures and promotional items at events.

There is a green-walking map / tour of the newest building on campus, our OCE&E building, which was a joint-venture between the school and the WA State dept. of Social and Human Services. It is a LEED Gold building and features a green roof, rain-water catchment systems, and a whole host of other features applicable to sustainability.

The Safety office promotes a number of sustainable methods of transportation through guides in their office and on the website. Overall, the city sponsored Commute Transit Reduction program is promoted to encourage folks to use public transit, ride sharing, carpooling, and biking options by providing subsidized transit passes for staff and students. For bicyclists, resources advertised include free, sheltered bike racks, and rental lockers available within the Roy Flores Recreation Center.

The Sustainability Office and Safety Office have walking and pedestrian maps. The following link is a list-serve that supports bicyclists and pedestrians in the NSC area facilitating by Licton Haller Greenways. The Sustainability Office supports a bike repair station. Free, sheltered bike racks are conveniently located in various places throughout the campus, and the Roy Flores Wellness Center has rental lockers available for bicycle commuters.

The Sustainability Office provides a number of handouts at its office and tabling events that include best practices in resource use reduction, community gardening, waste policies, and how and where to donate used electronics. NSC also gives out reusable aluminum water bottles made by local company (Liberty) and designed by student design class (2015) as promotion for participating in surveys and challenges.
