North Seattle College President’s Advisory Council on Sustainability (PACS) provides both college and district-wide leadership by designing and supporting sustainability-related policies, programs, and practices driven by the “triple bottom line.” The PACS develops and recommends policies, programs and strategies that promote sustainability in advancing student success, excelling in teaching and learning, and building a sustainable community.

A brief description of each sustainability office:
The sustainability office is made up of the Sustainability Coordinator, work-study students, interns, volunteers and student leadership sustainability board members. The office develops sustainability curriculum with faculty members, develops projects with students that increase sustainability on campus while building skills that students can take into the workplace, advocates sustainability practices on campus and beyond, and generally act as a resource to anybody wanting to be more involved with sustainability.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The former sustainability committee became the President's Advisory Council on Sustainability this last year. The primary responsibility of the Council is developing and reporting to the college's Sustainability Action Plan. NSC adopted a new strategic plan for 2016-2023, and sustainability is one of its core themes. The council helped guide the direction of many AASHE STARS initiatives and development of a campus landfill diversion plan.
