Does the institution have an ongoing program to encourage students in multiple disciplines or academic programs to conduct sustainability research?:
Yes

A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
Sustainability is one of Northeastern University's three strategic and programmatic research pillars: Health, Security and Sustainability. A significant portion of faculty research is in this area and thus, many of the University's faculty-mentored undergraduate research awards support student research in the area of sustainability.

The University’s annual Research, Innovation, Scholarship and Entrepreneurship – the RISE Expo – showcases research conducted by NU students, faculty and staff in a variety of disciplines. The College of Professional Studies incentivizes sustainability research through a “Resiliency and Sustainability Award” that provides recognition to one undergraduate and one graduate student (or team) whose RISE presentation best applies research and communication to spotlight an important idea, problem, or challenge related to any of the wide range of topics within resiliency and sustainability.
