A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:
The 2008/2009 academic year baseline is used because this was the first year that NSCC began comprehensively tracking GHG emission data on a monthly basis for Scope 1 and 2 emission sources across all sites.
Figures needed to determine “Weighted Campus Users”:

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:
Impact on GHG emissions is factored in to NSCC's capital planning decisions, to best leverage infrastructure renewal projects to reduce our emissions.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Scope 1 and 2 emissions were calculated by NSCC Facilities management, based on heating fuel consumption, imported steam and electricity at all NSCC-owned sites. The data is compiled centrally and recorded in a historical database for historical comparison. Additionally, NSCC has now uploaded all of our current and historical fuel and electricity consumption data into Energy Star Portfolio Manager's online platform, which allows us to quickly calculate and compare yearly GHG emissions, as well as weather-normalized energy consumption data.
Business travel related GHG emissions were collected by requesting rental vehicle data from Enterprise Car Rentals, which is NSCC's primary rental vehicle associate. Enterprise provided a full GHG breakdown given NSCC's rentals throughout the fiscal year.
