Nova Southeastern University, in partnership with the Carpenter House in Hollywood, Florida, coordinates the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC). This collaboration supports the efforts of sea turtle conservation, research and environmental stewardship.

NSU hosts the Alvin Sherman Library on campus, which is open to the public of Broward County. The library hosts public events such as "Friday Movie Matinee Discussion", "STEM for Kids", "Celebrate Black History Month with Digital Collages", and even "Veggie Secrets". Of course, the library also hosts a wealth of resources regarding sustainability, boasting entire sections for ecology and the like.
