The Blue Team are students dedicated to making Ontario Tech U more sustainable. The Blue Team invites all students to get involved with the programs and events they run.
The Blue Team works under the sustainability office, and has the support of OCIS, the sustainability committee, and the joint sustainability committee.
Example of an outreach activity:
The campus market was directed at all students at DC and UOIT. The campus market is an annual on campus farmers market that promotes sustainable, local eating.

The Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability hires 1 to 2 asset and sustainability planning assistants through the workstudy program at Ontario Tech U. Part of this students responsibility is to be a student leader for the Blue Team, recruit more members, and develop Blue Team outreach activities.
A brief description of the formal training that the student educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
The student educator receives training from the Asset and Sustainability Planner at Ontario Tech U. Additional training is received as required.
A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or faculty/staff coordination):
The Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability funds the Blue Team events. The OCIS team also provides support by helping to develop programs with the Blue Team.
