Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
"Planting a Better future" program running annually since 2021. Ontario Tech students participated in leading sustainability education workshops and presentations for elementary school classes (with hands-on components), generally lasts 2 weeks to 4 months. Ontario Tech students work to research and create content for presentation materials.


The Faculty of Social Science and Humanities works in partnership with a group, Horizons of Friendship https://www.horizons.ca/travel-with-us to send a small contingent of practicum student abroad each year -- they went to Central America in 2018/2019 to work with local groups abroad that are engaged in sustainable development work. This program empowers people and strengthens communities to eliminate poverty and injustice across Central America & Mexico.

Other sustainability related immersive programs: Alternative reading week activities- covers various themes; and Ontario Tech AIESEC chapter placements: Non-profit, youth run volunteer opportunity for 6+ week, to provide a positive impact globally and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (https://aiesec.org/global-volunteer).
