Pollinator Program
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In 2022, Ontario Tech University planted over 7.5 hectares of native wildflowers on the campus farm to provide essential food and habitat for native pollinators. This is all in an effort to support local biodiversity (which we began tracking last year in a campus biodiversity inventory).
The various pollinator plants are showcased on campus tours done for students, staff and community members and are a great educational component of the tours.
