A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :
The Sustainability Office, and other departments like Campus Recycling, offer training to all OSU faculty and staff several times each year. The most significant training event is Training Days, a two day long set of workshop sessions that deal with a variety of university issues.
Sustainability-related sessions this past year included 1)OSU Sustainability Overview: What is New for 2010-2011; 2) Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: How to Lighten your Impact on the Environment & your Departments Budget; 3) The "Greening" of Business Affairs; 4) "Greening" your Events: Tips & Examples.
OSU also maintains membership in The Natural Step network and faculty and staff periodically organize Northwest Earth Institute discussion courses centered on sustainability.
