Combined, our 2 Early Childhood Education Lab School sites have an approximately 1 acre of landscape that is managed organically. We do not spray or apply chemicals within 10 feet of these landscape areas. Weeds, pests and pathogens are mitigated by cultural and mechanical means in these landscape areas. Chemicals have yet to be used in these areas and if they should be needed the District is committed to using organic means of control.

When chemical control is required, it is always the last resort. Our team of on-site and contractor applicators are well trained, skilled, and overseen by certified staff to properly apply pesticides/herbicides when they are required, so that we mitigate impacts to the environment.
